about

The Resistance Compilation II: In Support of the ACLU brings together Somewherecold Records artists past, present, and future to build a compilation that both inspires and does something great for communities across the United States.

THE ACLU TODAY

For nearly 100 years, the ACLU has been our nation’s guardian of liberty, working in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and the laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country.

Whether it’s achieving full equality for LGBT people, establishing new privacy protections for our digital age of widespread government surveillance, ending mass incarceration, or preserving the right to vote or the right to have an abortion, the ACLU takes up the toughest civil liberties cases and issues to defend all people from government abuse and overreach.

On July 3, 2020, all proceeds from the compilation will go toward the ACLU. Further, Bandcamp is waiving its fees for all purchases. So, if you buy something else from the label, the 10% waived fee will go in the pot for the ACLU as well.

The compilation begins with ambient and experimental artists, moves into our first slowcore artist and then blasts off into shoegaze and dreampop. There are many new songs here made specially for this compilation.

This is the Somewherecold Collective at its best!

I, Jason, the label owner, want to thank all the artists and bands for even being a part of my life. It's such an honor and you all continually blow me away.
